AMERICAN MUSLIM NEWS BRIEFS - 6/12/07 – CAIR NEWSLETTER
INTERPRETING STATISTICS OR RUSHING TO JUDGMENT? - TOP
Sylvester Brown Jr., St. Louis Post-Dispatch, 6/12/07
I'm usually one of the first to defend MSMers (mainstream media people) when conservative pundits label us irresponsible, sloppy or dangerous. After reading commentaries about a recent Pew Research Center study, I have to admit those pundits may have a legitimate gripe - at least in this case.
At first glance, Pew's study, "Muslim Americans: Middle Class and Mostly Mainstream," reveals a positive portrayal of our Muslim countrymen. Most reject "Islamic extremism" and believe that Muslims in the U.S. should adopt American customs.
Good news, right? Dr. Ghazala Hayat, a professor of neurology at St. Louis University, certainly thinks so: "It was a positive study, showing that most Muslims here are well-integrated and believe in the American dream."
Hayat is the past president of St. Louis' Interfaith Partnership and was the first woman to head the Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis.
Unfortunately, several writers offered a more ominous interpretation. Syndicated columnist Kathleen Parker admitted that most U.S. Muslims have assimilated but warned that "more than a few ... think suicide bombings are justified."
New York Post writers Douglas Montero and Andy Soltis warned in a story headlined "Time Bombs in our Midst" that "one out of four young U.S. Muslims believe suicide bombings against innocent civilians are OK."
Washington Times columnist Diana West urged readers not to "ignore a dangerous percentage" of young Muslims who approve of "skin-ripping, skull-crushing, organ-piercing violence in civilian life as a religious imperative."
Hold up a minute. Let's take a closer look. The survey asked more than 1,000 respondents if suicide bombings and other forms of violence against civilians were justified to defend Islam from its enemies. "Never justified" was the answer given by 69 percent, while 11 percent said "rarely" and 15 percent answered "often/sometimes."
Critics jumped on the combined 11 and 15 percent numbers, arguing that more than a quarter of young U.S. Muslims support killing civilians.
Is it feasible to believe that some U.S. Muslims, like other Americans, believe in the idea of casualties of war? Last year, the University of Maryland released the findings of polls conducted concurrently with Americans and Iranians. When asked whether bombings and other attacks "intentionally aimed at civilians" are justified, 27 percent of Americans said "rarely," 24 percent said "sometimes" and 19 percent answered "often."
By the way, 80 percent of the Iranians polled said such attacks were "never justified."
Funny, I don't remember panicked commentaries denouncing our cavalier attitude toward the death of Muslim civilians.

Again just like a good old CAIR newsletter I will start this reply with a quote from the religion of peace.
Sura 4:34 - A husband can beat a wife into submission if the wife refuses sexual relations. (Nothing says I love you like a good old-fashioned beating in the name of Allah)
Here we are again looking over the PEW POLL and CAIR is trying to twist the facts to make the Muslim community look good when we all know otherwise.
CAIR is amazed that the MSM and several blog sites have keyed in on the results that most people over look. Sure there are large numbers of Muslims (69%) that doesn’t want to see terrorism, suicide bombings and other forms of violence against civilians. But what CAIR is getting upset with is the fact that people are using the numbers to look at the ones that DO (11% said “rarely” and 15% said “often/sometimes) think it’s OK.
So CAIR is mad (what else is new) that we noticed that these numbers are ALARMING to us. Why are they not alarming to CAIR? So let’s give CAIR the benefit of the doubt and stick with the smaller number (11%). Not much, but take that number by JUST the people that they polled (1,000) and you now have 110 people!!! That is ALARMING TO ME.
OK let’s break that number of 11% down into something so simple that we can all relate to. You take your family to the ballgame (baseball) and there are 34,097 people in attendance (average attendance for MLB in 2006).
If we take the 11% figure and apply it to the ball game attendance you have 3,750 people in that ballpark with you that think it’s OK to BLOW you up (and your FAMILY) in the name of Allah.
So you don’t like baseball. Let’s go to a good concert, Dave Matthews Band, Green Day, whatever (your choice) and there are 49,000 in attendance. Go back to our simple math and that equates out to 5,390 people willing to kill you.
OK (last one) you don’t like baseball or a concert. You’re a southern red neck that just loves NASCAR (I do) and you go to Daytona for the race. In attendance there you have 186,000 people (average race attendance for NASCAR 2006) and again we use the 11% figure. We have 20,460 running around with bombs strapped to themselves thinking it’s OK to leave the race early and attend service with Allah.
There are approximately 2.35 MILLION Muslims in America! (11% = 258,500).
That figure is really large when you compare it to all the other religions that want to blow themselves up in the name of their God or beliefs. (Hindu, Catholics, Jewish and Protestants, etc)
There are ZERO, ZIP, NONE, NOT ONE, ZILCH people in other religions that think it’s OK to blow themselves up and take innocent people with them. Just the Muslims and their religion of peace.
But here is one thing that I think a lot of people seemed to have overlooked (quote from CAIR newsletter and Sylvester Brown JR’s Article).
JUSTIFIED TO DEFEND ISLAM FROM IT’S ENEMIES??? Just what does that mean?
I take that as they believe that EVERYONE but the MUSLIMS are attacking their religion and they are JUSTIFIED to do the suicide bombings and other forms of violence to promote their religion.
"Kill the Mushrikun (unbelievers) wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush..." Sura 9:5.
Muhammad said, " No Muslim should be killed for killing a Kafir" (infidel).
And as for those who disbelieve and reject Our Signs, they are the people of Hell 5:11
The Muslims are on the OFFENSE, not the defense of their religion.
They are actively attacking the world and trying to get the World to conform to them and their Shari’a law.
CAIR and Sylvester Brown Jr. has a rebuttal to the poll (are you surprised? I’m not).
Here is my reply to the above statement. I believe that if you asked just about any American if they wanted to bomb or attack something or someone the first thing we would ask is “what did they do to deserve this”? Not what religion are they, are we defending our religion or does Allah (or some self-proclaimed “religious” leader) bless this attack?
THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MUSLIMS AND THE REST OF THE WORLD.
Christians & Jewish martyrs say; "I will die for what I believe".
A Muslim martyr says; "you will die for what I believe"....
We do not go around blowing each other up in the name of a religion. We did not start this war with the Muslims (yes this is not a war on terror, it is a war against the ideology of Islam and the advancement of the religion of peace).
The Muslims are continuing to fight this war with the ENTIRE WORLD. SO don’t even reply that this is all because of America or American policy.
The Muslims are killing anything and everyone evidently “DEFENDING ISLAM” which I didn’t even realize was under attack. Did you know that Islam is just defending themselves? Doesn’t that justify all of this now?
Just look at the carnage they are doing on a daily basis in the name of Allah.

To me the website above is all the proof that you need to see that this is not a war against America or American policy. It is a war of religion. We have entered the CRUSAIDES all over again. Good against evil, God against the Devil.
And CAIR, if you’re worried about what people think of the Muslim religion and all the prejudice that you say you are experiencing. I have a little suggestion! Stop all the trivial little lawsuits and STOP KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE IN YOUR GOD’S NAME!!!!
It’s not just a “radical” few that has taken over your religion either!
It is a very large number of them (but I personally think it’s really the entire religion).
So if you think we are making something out of nothing by singling out a “few radical” Muslims that have taken over your religion, think of this. These “ few radical Muslims” think it’s OK to attack, kill and murder us. Now do you start to understand OUR concerns over the results of the PEW POLL?
Your small number of “radical Muslims” has killed over 8580 people world wide since 9/11. Just this week (June 2nd thru the 8th) your Religion of Peace has attacked 56 times killing 347 people and critically injuring another 323 people.
If we look at that number of 11% again, then just look at the results of what a few “RADICAL MUSLIMS” that have taken over your religion is capable of doing. Surly even you can see the reason why we are so concerned.
You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out.
And again I will quote Grandma Rockdog “You are the company that you keep”!
Thanks
Rockdog
P.S. CAIR, isn’t it OK for a Muslim to LIE to a non-Muslim? (Hint: Yes it is)
Then why should we believe anything you tell us infidels? Why should we trust you? Isn’t it very possible that the results of the PEW Poll are also nothing but lies and the numbers could very well be HIGHER (what I personally believe). Muslims would purposefully LIE to have the numbers appear smaller so the true threat that the Muslims pose would not be so apparent to us.
Al-taqiyya and dissimulation are words used for a practice of Muslims blatantly lying to non-Muslims. All but some of the most fundamental Muslims consider the act of Al-taqiyya or lying to non-Muslims to be a good work. This is very important when one remembers that, in Islam, salvation is determined by good works.
Please go to this site for more about lying to infidels (great article)http://www.hauns.com/~DCQu4E5g/koran5.html
